The Minutová půjčka ("Minute Loan") from Raiffeisenbank is a consumer loan for any purpose – it is not a purpose-tied loan linked to a specific purchase, but a general-purpose solution for anything from furnishing a home to a car to covering an unexpected expense. As the product's name suggests, the bank emphasizes fast processing, especially for clients who already hold an account with it. The loan requires no guarantor and no collateral, so it is aimed primarily at people with a stable income and a good credit history who want to cover a one-off financial need without unnecessary paperwork or having to secure the loan with property or other assets. Compared to an overdraft or a credit card, where interest is charged only on the amount actually drawn but rates tend to be much higher and less predictable, this type of loan offers a fixed instalment for the entire agreed term.

Interest rate and APR

The bank quotes an interest rate from 4.9% p.a. and an annual percentage rate of charge (APR) from 5.0%. The word "from" matters here – this is the lowest rate the bank offers to its most creditworthy clients, not a rate guaranteed to every applicant. The actual rate offered to a given client depends on their income, the loan amount and term, and the bank's overall creditworthiness assessment, so the rate actually offered can be higher than the stated minimum. The gap between the nominal rate (4.9%) and the APR (5.0%) is quite small, just 0.1 percentage point – unlike the nominal rate, the APR includes all mandatory fees linked to the loan, and since the bank reportedly charges no fee for arranging or administering it, that shows up as a small gap between the two figures. In the representative example published by the bank, the 4.9% rate is fixed for the entire term of the loan – meaning the instalment amount does not change over the repayment period, giving the client predictable monthly costs with no risk of the instalment rising partway through.

Total cost

As required by consumer credit law, the bank publishes a representative APR calculation example: for a loan of CZK 400,000 over a term of 96 months (8 years), the monthly instalment comes to CZK 5,238 and the total repayable amount to CZK 502,848 – roughly CZK 102,848 more than the amount borrowed. Keep in mind that this is a representative example based on specific assumptions (including a specific applicant creditworthiness), not a guarantee of identical terms for every client – a different loan amount, a different term, or a different applicant creditworthiness will result in a different instalment and different total cost. Before signing, we recommend using the bank's online calculator to work out the exact instalment for the amount and term you actually need.

According to the information published by the bank, Raiffeisenbank charges no fee for arranging or administering the loan. Early repayment, whether partial or in full, is likewise free of charge and can be made at any time without a penalty fee. This is a real advantage compared to loans where paying off the remaining balance early costs an additional fee, or where the loan carries a flat monthly administration charge.

Requirements and security

The loan can be arranged for amounts from CZK 5,000 to CZK 2,000,000, with a repayment term ranging from 3 months up to 120 months (10 years) – so a client can choose a short term for a smaller amount or a long repayment period spread out into a lower monthly instalment for a larger loan. According to the bank's information, the loan is available to citizens of the Czech Republic and other EU countries who can provide a valid national ID card; applicants from outside the EU need a passport or residence permit. The bank does not require a guarantor or any collateral such as property or other assets, and the funds can be used for any purpose – the loan is therefore not tied to proof of a specific invoice or purpose of use. Processing speed differs depending on whether you are already a bank client: existing clients can apply online and may have the funds in their account within minutes, while new clients additionally have to go through online identity verification or sign the contract in person at a branch, which extends the process somewhat.

Pros and cons

  • Zero fee for arranging or administering the loan
  • Partial and full early repayment free of charge at any time
  • No guarantor or collateral required
  • Funds available within minutes for existing bank clients
  • Repayment term of up to 10 years allows for a lower instalment

On the other hand:

  • The quoted rate of 4.9% p.a. is only the lowest possible one – the actual offer depends on the applicant's creditworthiness
  • New clients wait longer for the funds than existing clients
  • Applicants from outside the EU additionally need a passport or residence permit

Summary

The Minutová půjčka from Raiffeisenbank is an attractive option for clients who need money quickly and do not want to pay for arrangement, administration, or early repayment. The lowest advertised rate of 4.9% p.a. with an APR from 5.0% is competitive, but it is worth remembering that this is a "from" rate – the final offer depends on an individual assessment of the applicant's creditworthiness. Before signing, we recommend checking the exact instalment for your amount and term using the bank's calculator, since the published representative example (CZK 400,000 over 96 months) may not match your own situation. The product's strongest point is the combination of zero fees and free early repayment, which makes it a good choice even for clients who expect they might want to pay off the loan ahead of the agreed schedule.
